Designed to help users get their spending habits under control, Home Budget is an electronic twist on the envelope-style system of budgeting for personal use. However, users who need a full accounting system with an in-depth ability to track assets, liabilities, and project cash flow will find this program falls short. This program gives users the ability to set up accounts (virtual envelopes) and move portions of income into these accounts. Somewhat flexible, the program accounts are easy to create using a set-up wizard that guides users through the point-and-click features. The smooth interface includes drop-down calendars and a built-in calculator. Functions include the ability to import Quicken data and online banking statements. Users also can schedule transactions, produce charts and graphs, or view account summaries and reports. Home Budget is designed for all levels of users, although there will be a slight learning curve for those not familiar with the envelope budgeting system.

Important bugs are not fixed
The app is OK, but it has some major bugs for those of use who manage expenses and incomes in multiple currencies.
1. Whenever you import expenses and transactions in a certain currency, the app will not perform the right conversion to the main currency of the system. I have had to open the app’s SQLite database and run UPDATE queries myself to get this fixed without having to go on each expense one by one.
Appart from that, the other limitation is that the budget is always just for the current month, you cannot store historical information about your budget nor explore how you performed budget-wise in past moths

HomeBudget With Sync
This app is one of a few that can duplicate my financial spreadsheet without being overly complicated and costly.
My requirement is to know what bills are due and when each month, total expenses and total income month to month.
The app is very flexible when adding recurring, one time and periodic payments.
In a very short time I entered the content of my spreadsheet and could see my monthly expenses total month by month and my discretionary income.
The app has some graphical tools to see where your money is going and tools for budgeting purposes.
The interface needs a little rearranging but is not a show stopper.
Needs more options for printing.
Overall a very nice app and does what I want it to.

BEST THING OF MY LIFE
I am so happy with this app so far! I downloaded the free version the other night and then I just had to get the full version. I’ve been looking for a very hands on way to do my budget that isn’t excel and doesn’t neccisarily connect to my bank account. This app is so great and has been so helpful. I am excited to continue using it!
